Rjukan fjellstue - where history meets nature.

Our Mountain Lodge is situated at 840m above sea level. Located at the edge of the mountain plain of Hardangervidda, we are the perfect starting location for your next outdoor adventure. Here you may explore activities like hiking, bicycling, skiing or even rent snowshoes. After a long day outdoors, you may sit back and relax whilst surrounded by astonishing mountain views and traditional Norwegian architecture. If you want to endulge in the areas fascinating history, the Lodge has its own exhibition of the Heavy water sabotage. You may also book our knowledgeable guide to take you back in time and follow the footsteps of the saboteurs through the Saboteur`s trail. No matter your interests, we look forward to welcoming you!

Group Bookings or business trip?

We are open all year for groups and offer all-inclusive stays. We will customise your stay and offer activities according to your preferences and needs.

We offer guided tours through the Saboteur Trail all year for groups staying with us.

Summer 2023

The Summer season of 2023 has finally started and we may offer you accommodation with a mouthwatering Norwegian breakfast in the morning! Planning a trip after 13th august 2023? Please contact us for availability.

Throughout the summer we offer dinner in our restaurant from 30th June to 6th August. The restaurant is open Tue-Sun, from 1500-1900.

Unfortunately, our restaurant is not open between 1100-1500.

Rooms (2-4 persons)

All our rooms have their own sink. Some rooms have their own toilet, whilst most have a shared WC/shower. All our rooms have now been renovated.

Locally sourced traditional Norwegian food

Throughout the summer season we use locally sourced food on our breakfast buffet. All our food is homemade using Norwegian ingredients where possible.

Cabins (up to 4 persons)

Our cabins have their own toilet and shower. We have 4 cabins for rent: Smørebua, Fossestaul, Skarstaul and Skarbu. One of the cabins is available for self-catering, with simple equipment.

Conference room

Our main conference room can fit 50 people. In addition we have several living rooms ideal for smaller group meetings.

Events

We would love to host your next event! Our Lodge is the perfect venue for your Birthday Party, Wedding, Communion or Baptism. We have room for up to 75 people. Please call us for more information and prices.
